Bucket List Itinerary: Adventures in Lake Tahoe

Would you rather bike, climb, kayak or hike at Lake Tahoe? Instead of choosing one, you can experience all these escapades on Bonvoy Adventure Travel’s “Lake Tahoe, California” itinerary. The six-day, all-inclusive camping trip allows guests to enjoy a week full of wilderness adventures with none of the stress.

“This region in the Sierra Nevadas is home to the iconic rocky outcroppings you imagine when you think of the great American West,” said Sean Jackson, Bonvoy Adventure Travel founder and CEO. “We’ll be getting to know the land intimately as we rock climb and mountain bike up and across some incredible terrain. The lake itself is a gorgeous thing to behold.”

Groups hike, mountain bike and rock climb across portions of the 165-mile Tahoe Rim Trail. During bike rides, guests will take in expansive views, including the panoramas from the Flume Trail along the lake’s rim. While hiking, participants can pause to examine the lush forests, wildflowers and high-alpine meadows surrounding the lake.

Professional guides instruct and provide high-performance gear for the trip’s ascent of the granite face called Lover’s Leap. Afterwards, groups kayak across Lake Tahoe’s coastline on a route that includes a stop at the Scandinavian-style Vikingsholm, a Scandinavian-themed castle built nearly 100 years ago.

“Bonvoy is targeting a new generation of traveler who is less intimidated by extreme sports and comfy camping,” said Jackson. “We provide an environment that doesn’t feel like a group tour, but rather like an outing with friends.”
