Collette Cares Announces Million Meals Initiative

PAWTUCKET, Rhode Island — Collette Cares has launched 1 Million Meals Campaign, a new global hunger initiative with a goal of providing one million meals to the needy worldwide by 2018, the 100th anniversary of Collette, the Rhode Island-based travel company.

The campaign will involve volunteers, global projects and three strategic, new partnerships.

Collette officially kicked off the campaign with a meal-packaging event with lead partner, Stop Hunger Now, on July 18, when more than 240 volunteers created 30,000 meals on the afternoon at Collette’s global headquarters in Pawtucket.

In addition to Stop Hunger Now, Collette Cares is partnering with No Kid Hungry and Edesia to give meals as part of this campaign.

Also, Collette employees will volunteer their time at soup kitchens and food banks in Rhode Island, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, where additional Collette offices are located.

“It is with great excitement that Collette Cares kicks off such a noble initiative,” said Dan Sullivan Jr., president and CEO of Collette. “Hunger is a global issue that we’ve identified as something we want to improve on our road to 100 years as an organization.”
