New Adventures Available on the Ganges, Amazon and Mekong Rivers

Luxury tour operator, Abercrombie and Kent recently announced plans to offer river cruises down the Ganges, Amazon and Mekong rivers. The three itineraries will fall under the operator’s Luxury Small Group Journeys for 2015.

“We’ve seen the appeal of river cruising expand well beyond Europe, which led us to incorporate the same experience in more exotic destinations on our luxury journeys,” said Phil Otterson, president of Abercrombie and Kent USA.

All three routes include six or seven nights aboard new Haimark Limited ships, upscale hotel accommodations, small group sizes and a resident tour director who travels with the group.

Abercrombie and Kent’s new “India and Nepal: The Taj Mahal, Mt. Everest and a Ganges River Cruise,” features a seven-night cruise from Kolkata to Murshidabad and back. The 16-day tour will run in December 2015 and January 2016.

Travelers on the company’s nine-day “Amazon Adventure: Rainforest and River Cruise” will sail on the Amazon River for six-nights through the Peruvian rainforest. The December tour’s land portion visits Lima.

Passengers cruise up the Mekong River from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam up int Cambodia and back on the 12-day “Cruising the Mekong: Siam, Saigon and Angkor Wat.” The seven-night cruise sails aboard a new 24-passenger ship with a spa theme. Spa cuisine and enhanced spa services will be offered.
