“The Six Travel Personalities” explores the profiles of travelers who frequently travel with tour groups and gives travel planners a look into the motivations and desires that shape how they experience new destinations.

“The old-fashioned, one-size-fits-all model of group tours doesn’t work in the new age of tourism,” said Brian Jewell, executive editor of The Group Travel Leader and creator of “The Six Travel Personalities.” “I’ve been on dozens and dozens of group tours over the past 12 years, and I have found that the hundreds of people on those tours often fall into several personality categories. By exploring those categories and the way that those travelers think, we can create travel experiences that are more targeted and compelling for everyone.”

The e-book was written by Marsha Mack Goberish for a yearlong series published in Select Traveler magazine.

Readers are sure to recognize some of the personalities — the Epicurean, the Adventurer, the Learner, the Connector, the Pilgrim and the Vacationer — from their own travel groups. They will learn about the tastes and curiosities that drive each of these personalities and will get real-world examples of the types of activities and experiences that each one seeks while traveling.

“I have presented the Six Travel Personalities at tourism conferences around the country and have found that audience members always identify with the personalities we discuss,” Jewell said. “The content of this e-book will help readers not only understand their own travel personalities, but also learn how to cater to the personalities of others in their travel groups.”

The e-book is available as a free download for a limited time. If you would like to receive a copy of the ebook as well as our monthly eNewsletters click here. If you’re already a subscriber then click here and fill out this short survey for your ebook download.
