“What was your favorite hotel experience?”

“One of my favorite hotels sits in the middle of a desert. After seeing nothing but mountains of sand as far as the eye could see, the green oasis surrounding Evason Ma’in Hot Springs in Jordan felt like a mirage.

“The hotel lies beneath dramatically cascading hot spring waterfalls, giving the hotel grounds seclusion and beauty. I loved wandering the lush grounds and listening to the sounds of waterfalls during the decadent hotel buffet.”

“Some of my favorite hotels began their lives as other things altogether. I’ve stayed overnight inside a former grain silo in Ohio, a former monastery in Mexico and a renovated train car in Tennessee. This kind of creative reuse always makes the end product more enjoyable than an ordinary hotel.”

“I think my favorite hotel experience to date was the two nights we spent with Tourism Cares at the Tambo del Inka resort in Peru’s Sacred Valley. This hotel was remarkably elegant and equally unpretentious. Its huge timbered exterior, massive stone floors, native tapestries, urns and rugs and lack of front desk made this hotel the most memorable I’ve enjoyed.”

“My husband and I escaped our children this past summer to go to Asheville for an extra long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed at the Inn at Biltmore and it was wonderful. The staff was amazing! It didn’t matter if we dined at the hotel or in the village or at the actual cafe at the Estate, everyone was wishing us Happy Anniversary and giving us little extras. We felt very special and end up never leaving the grounds once we arrived!”

“Two years ago our group of high school friends took a cruise together out of Tampa. One of my friends travels all the time for work, and knew that the hotel at the Tampa airport would be a good place for us all to say.

“We booked rooms for our group for the night before the cruise and arranged for a group dinner in Ybor City. With transportation arranged on a bus and the airport full of restaurants, we were able to focus our attention on having fun with our friends. I would have never thought of an airport hotel as a relaxing environment, but we had a great time, got away on our cruise rested and enthused. It could have so easily turned out much worse, so the hotel proved to be a wise choice.”
