The first capital of Alabama, Huntsville features numerous historic districts and attractions. The Twickenham, Old Town, and Five Points districts are in the heart of downtown Huntsville. Harrison Brothers Hardware sits on the square in downtown Huntsville and is the oldest hardware store in the state, which now features specialty gifts and artwork from local and regional artists. Burritt on the Mountain, a living history museum, sits high atop a mountain with a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Burritt features an early 20th Century mansion and a collection of 19th and early 20th Century buildings to explore. 

The arts are thriving in Huntsville! The Huntsville Museum of Art features nationally recognized traveling exhibitions and exhibits from its permanent collection. Located in Big Spring International Park, the museum is a perfect stop for groups in the heart of the city. Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment is a repurposed textile mill turned artist haven. It’s the largest privately-owned arts facility in the south, featuring 200+ artists, studios, galleries, and everything from culinary to performing arts.
