NEW YORK – One of the most important discoveries in the past century has come to the Big Apple for a special exhibit at Discovery Times Square. An exhibit on the Dead Sea Scrolls, including four pieces of parchment that have never before been seen by the public, began its yearlong visit to America in late October.

The exhibit will move from the Discovery Times Square on April 15, when it will open at Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute for five months. Organizers claim that the exhibit is one of the most comprehensive collections of ancient artifacts from Israel ever compiled.

Ten of the 20 pieces of scroll parchment will be on display at a time, along with more than 500 artifacts from Biblical times through the creation of modern Israel. Some of the featured items include large vessels, jewelry, coins and a three-ton stone from Jerusalem’s wall.
