PALM SPRINGS, California — The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies has announced that its 2013-2014 season, which begins Nov. 1, will be its final season after 22 years and nearly 3 million viewers.
The Follies, which features Broadway-caliber production numbers five days a week with a cast ranging in age from 55 to 83 years, will perform its final show on May 18, 2014, in downtown Palm Springs’ historic Plaza Theatre.
The final season will be entitled “The Last Hurrah!” and feature highlighted dance production numbers and variety acts from previous seasons and three iconic headliners who will be announced later.
“Our 23rd season will be a ‘greatest hits’ version of our show,” said Follies producer and co-founder Riff Markowitz, who has appeared in every show since its premiere in 1992. “We all feel, however, that we have saved the very best for last.”
Online ticket sales begin July 15, and the Follies box office reopens Sept. 30.
