Welcome to Grand Central USA, the home to some of America’s greatest tourism destinations and attractions. Grand Central USA started almost five years ago as a partnership between Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma with the express purpose of creating fresh, unique regional itineraries and promotions. We have the well-known tourism bedrocks, the hidden gems and everything in between.
“We recognized that group leaders and tour operators don’t care about state lines, and we needed to follow suit. Our first order of business was to leave egos at the door and work together to cross-promote our region,” said Todd Stallbaumer, Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department.
The result has been a new awareness of all the partner states. In addition, the organization features more than 25 geographic and thematic itineraries, with new itineraries being added regularly. Itineraries include Holiday Season in Grand Central USA, the Presidential Trail of Grand Central USA, Famous Faces, Grand Girlfriend Getaway, the African-American Heritage of Grand Central USA, Route 66, Native American History and many more.
“Grand Central USA is full of the hands-on experiences and undiscovered gems that buyers continually tell us they are seeking to keep their itineraries fresh, fun and a true experience,” said Renee Robison of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
“I think many tour operators and group leaders will be truly surprised,” said Kelli Hilliard of the Kansas Department of Commerce, “when they look at our sample itineraries and see the diversity and uniqueness of our region.”
