Virginia is for (Garden) Lovers

Travelers get a great opportunity to explore Virginia’s history and its spring colors at the same time during Historic Garden Week. This eight-day event takes place at homes, gardens and public places across the state, and will happen this year April 20-27.

Funds raised during Historic Garden Week have helped to preserve the grounds of landmarks such as George Washington’s Mount Vernon and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, as well as the Executive Mansion in Richmond. This year’s festivities will feature approximately 200 private homes and gardens open on 32 separate tours throughout the state.
