We asked the staff at The Group Travel Leader: “What is a travel experience that you look forward to sharing with your kids?” Find out the dreams of these frequent fliers with their answers!
“I lived in Germany for four years when I was younger and was fortunate to travel all over Europe. I would love to take my children to Germany so they can see where I lived and then take the train to several of my favorite countries so they can experience seeing some of the places that I loved as a child. My daughter is reading Anne Frank’s diary right now, so she especially wants to go to Anne Frank’s house in Amsterdam.”
— Kelly Tyner, director of sales and marketing
“I’ve traveled all over the world, but for me, nothing beats Alaska. The scenery is staggering, and there are abundant adventure opportunities. When my kids are old enough, I’d love to take the family to stay in the Denali backcountry for a week and then to explore the glaciers and fjords along the coastline.”
— Brian Jewell, executive editor
“I am currently planning a family trip to Disney World. So that should be my answer, right? But if I’m being honest, what I really look forward to is experiencing our national parks together. I want to walk trails, watch buffalo roam and raft a river with canyon walls that go on forever. I want to watch my girls experience, respect and appreciate the land that has been set aside for all of us to enjoy.”
— Stacey Bowman, director, advertising sales
“For my college graduation gift, my parents took me abroad with my boyfriend (now husband). We made such wonderful memories in Paris, London and Venice — I can’t wait to show my children the rich history of Europe and let them experience new cultures.”
— Laura Camic, sales manager
“My husband and I would love to one day take our children to Japan for the Shichi-Go-San Festival that takes place every year on November 15. The festival is all about celebrating children, so I would love to share a country that has meant so much to me and my husband with our kids and see their faces as they experience a huge festival that’s all about them.”
— Ashley Ricks, circulation manager
“Since I treasure so many memories of wild childhood joy in North Carolina’s Outer Banks, I always pictured sharing that happiness with my own children there someday. I spent uncounted hours riding the wild waves and exploring the area’s uncrowded beaches. Compared to the calmer waves of other beaches, the Outer Banks always seemed like the epitome of adventure. Hopefully, my kids will feel the same way one day.”
