The Ararat Ridge Zoo features unique and exotic animals, and the Kangaroo Walkabout provides a rare chance to get up close to these fascinating creatures. Keeper chats and animal encounters offer educational fun for all ages. There’s a stunning, Italian-made carousel, featuring animals inspired by the models in the Ark, with a floor-level entry to ensure accessibility for guests young and old. Best of all, each of these experiences are included with your Ark admission.
There are also add-on experiences like the Truth Traveler virtual reality, zip-lining through the treetops, camel rides, and behind-the-scenes animal encounters that can take your visit to the next level. You can also try your hand at the Mining Sluice & Fossil Find for a hands-on adventure.
And at our state-of-the-art Answers Center auditorium, you can take in live presentations and prerecorded programs that cover a variety of science and worldview topics and enjoy concerts on select days by resident music group TrueSong.
Christmas at the Ark Encounter
The Christmas season is a great time to visit as the grounds are transformed into a winter wonderland with beautiful light displays and festive decor. A state-of-the-art laser show lights up the Ark in the evenings, and various shows and concerts in the Answers Center point to the true meaning of Christmas in their own special way.
