AgritourismWorld Invited to AgTech Summit

SALEM, Ohio — AgritourismWorld, a division of The Group Travel Family, will represent more than 3,500 farms and markets at the Forbes AgTech Summit in Salinas, California, July 13-14.

The Forbes AgTech Summit is an invitation-only gathering of 100 companies that are recognized by Forbes Magazine as innovators in agritourism and the challenges of world hunger. AgritourismWorld was selected for its helping develop the tourism elements of small farms in the United States. AgritourismWorld’s mission is to create awareness of the family-operated farm and to drive tourism to those farms as a new form of cash crop.

“We are blessed with 3,500 farms that are reaching out to visitors and inviting them to select a farm as a tourism destination,” said Charlie Presley, founder of AgritourismWorld. AgritourismWorld makes its online directory available to all farms, and travel groups may book a farm visit directly with the farm of their choice. Agritourism is a $1 billion industry, with almost all revenues going directly to the farm family.

Agritourism also acts as a major educational tool for those visitors not familiar with the farm-to-table food movement and other agriculture-related activities.

AgritourismWorld also holds an annual conference. The 2016 edition will take place in Columbus, Ohio, October 21-23.
