GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The annual Gettysburg Civil War Battle Re-enactment is now offering tickets for groups planning to attend the 150th-anniversary commemoration event July 4-7, 2013.

Over the course of the four days, visitors will watch re-creations of the battle’s most significant fighting, walk through Union and Confederate camps, and see demonstrations on medicine, religion, music and Civil War fashion.

The event is expected to draw more than 100,000.

“The Gettysburg re-enactment is always a highlight of the Civil War experience in Gettysburg,” said Norris Flowers, president of the Gettysburg Convention and Visitors Bureau. “This large event will keep spectators entertained for days. There is so much to do, from talking directly with soldiers to watching medical demonstrations and shopping in the sutler village.”

The reenactment will be part of a 10-day 150th-anniversary commemoration that will start June 28. The commemoration will include special tributes, new events, programs, tours and attractions on the Gettysburg battlefield, throughout the town and in surrounding communities.

More than 15,000 re-enactors are expected, along with 400 mounted cavalry and 100 cannons.
