SALEM, Ohio — A well-known figure in the group travel industry is looking forward to the 100th anniversary of the U.S. National Park Service with plans to assist groups and tour companies by offering his wealth of National Park knowledge.

Bob Hoelscher, The Group Travel Leader’s cruise columnist and veteran of the group tour industry, plans to use the knowledge gained via his visits to all National Parks in the continental United States. Hoelscher reports that as of June of this year he will have personally visited 384 park service sites, only 14 short of the total in the system.

Hoelscher plans to make his knowledge available in the form of itinerary planning, photography, group presentations, tour management or simply as a sounding board to those who wish to celebrate the historic occasion.

“There are 14 remote parks in Alaska as well as Guam and American Samoa,” Hoelscher said. “Other that those, I can say that I’ve seen them all.”

Hoelscher’s love of the National Park system and his accomplishment of having visited nearly all of them is timely, as the park service is approaching its 100th anniversary.
