Live entertainment: Enjoy the show

Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
Magic has a new home in the Dells: “Jeremy Allen’s Grand Illusions” show has moved into its own theater. To mark the move, Allen has added two new escape illusions and four new white tigers to his show.

The Dells Comedy Club has a new home as well and features a new show: “Comedy Hypnosis.” The show stars hypnotists Rich and Elizabeth Wylde, who put on an original and unrehearsed show each night. The hypnotists rely on audience participation to create a surreal and humorous experience for visitors.

In 2011, the Dells’ Crystal Grand Music Theatre beefed up its schedule from 22 to 70 acts each year. This year, the theater will welcome stars such as Neal McCoy, Davy Jones and Charley Pride. Traveling troupes such as Riverdance and Country Legends in Concert will also perform at the theater this year.

Branson, Mo.
With 60 professional theaters and 120 shows, Branson always has something new up its entertainment sleeves. In 2012, a crop of new shows help to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the city’s founding.

Sight and Sound Theatres brings its hit musical “Joseph” to its Branson location this year after a successful run at the company’s Pennsylvania location. This show employs 45 professional actors, dozens of live animals and a score of more than 20 original songs to retell the biblical story of Joseph, all on a 300-foot-wide stage that wraps around the audience.

Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady on the 1970s television series “The Brady Bunch,” takes the stage for the new show “Brady Brunch” at Yakov’s Theatre. During the show, Williams joins the audience for a meal and conversation, telling stories from his time on television. The new show also features a series of musical cabaret acts.

Longtime showbiz family the Hughes Brothers have created a new show, “It,” which plays at the Hughes Brothers Theatre. The show features a cast of more than 50 singers, dancers and musicians, including the Hughes Brothers and their families.

At Andy Williams Moon River Theater, a new show called “The Finalists” features five “top 10” finishers from the wildly successful “American Idol” television series.
