ANNAPOLIS, Md. — In honor of the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, the U.S. Naval Academy has developed a self-guided walking tour that includes 10 stops related to the war.

Five sites are at the Naval Academy — Mahan Hall, HMS Macedonian Monument, the U.S. Naval Academy Museum, the HMS Confiance Cannon at Macdonough Hall north and the Joseph Nicholson Home and Bandstand; and five are within the city of Annapolis — St. John’s College, St. Anne’s Church, the Maryland State House, the Chase-Lloyd House and the Historic Annapolis Foundation.

The tours are available through October 2014.

Copies of the tour map can be picked up at the USNA Visitor Center, USNA Museum, Maryland State House, Historic Annapolis Museum and the Annapolis Visitor Center.
