Although the Indiana communities along the Ohio River proudly preserve their past, they have also embraced new developments, especially the introduction of riverboat casinos over the past 13 years.
Five casinos are located on the river between Evansville and Lawrenceburg. Initially required by state law to be riverboats that cruised on the river while gambling was being conducted, all are now permanently docked, with elaborate resorts attached to them.

Grand Victoria, a five-minute walk from downtown Rising Sun, has southern Indiana’s only Scottish links-style golf course, which has panoramic views of the Ohio River Valley.
