Spam Museum Moves to More Convenient Location
AUSTIN, Minnesota — The Spam Museum has moved into a more convenient and high-tech location in downtown Austin after 15 years in the Hormel Foods corporate office complex.
Three previous galleries that tell the history of Spam, its rise in American culture by way of the military and how it is made were retained and augmented by new exhibits such as the interactive game that allows visitors to make Spam.
Nineteen interactive video screens throughout the museum replace a former theater that showed a 10-minute orientation film.
However, “Spambassadors” still circulate through the museum offering “Spamles” on the end of pretzel sticks.
