Award-Winning Arts
Each year, American Style magazine publishes a list of the “Top 25 Mid-Sized Cities for Art,” and more often than not Colorado Springs appears among the ranks. The town boasts a vibrant gallery scene, performing-arts schedule and Art on the Streets, its public art program.

Groups can get a feel for the area’s art culture at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. The center’s museum has a permanent collection of American, Native and Hispanic art in galleries overlooking the mountains. There’s also a theater and an art school in the complex.

Numerous events in town also showcase the arts. The First Friday Art Walk each month takes visitors through the streets of Old Colorado City, where more than 100 artists work within a six-block area. And over Labor Day weekend, the Commonwheel Artists Craft Festival fills the city with the work of hundreds of American artists and crafters, as well as food and live music.
