TUNICA, Mississippi — The Group Travel Leader and executive editor Brian Jewell were named “Travel Trade Publication of the Year” by the Mississippi Tourism Association at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism last fall.
The award is presented each year to a travel writer or tourism publication that creates outstanding articles highlighting travel in the state of Mississippi. Jewell was nominated and awarded for two 2012 articles on Mississippi tourism — one that appeared in The Group Travel Leader and a second article that ran in sister publication Bank Travel Management.
“I’m happy to accept this award on behalf of our entire Group Travel Leader team,” Jewell said. “We work hard to create interesting articles that give readers unique ideas and insight into tourism destinations. Mississippi’s history, culture, arts and culinary scenes make great material for magazine articles and group tours alike.”
