Uniworld does Holland and Belgium right

By Bob Hoelscher

I had toured most sites previously, but I particularly enjoyed my first-time visit to the open-air Enkhuizen, or Zuiderzee, Museum, which can best be described as kind of a Dutch equivalent to our Colonial Williamsburg.  Other than a couple of minor shore excursion glitches due to the addition of new included offerings, the simultaneous closing of both the Van Gogh and Rijks museums in Amsterdam and this being the first sailing of the season, the program went off with barely a hitch.

Everything that experienced river cruisers tend to expect of an upscale voyage was available onboard the River Duchess. The ship featured outstanding food and service; complimentary wines, beers and soft drinks with meals; a well-planned itinerary and excellent sightseeing tours conducted by top-notch guides; enrichment lectures and local entertainment; and an experienced, knowledgeable, friendly staff to serve a wide variety of guest interests.

I eagerly await another opportunity to cruise with Uniworld and would wager that readers will enjoy the experience, too.
