SAN DIEGO – Insert a little whimsy into your group’s exploration of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park with a Trike Safari experience. Custom-made electric trikes take guests through the park’s Asian-like savannas and African-like plains for a detailed look at wildlife.
Available to the public since June 27, the Trike Safari ride maneuvers groups through the park’s field habitats past giraffes, rhinos, gazelles and other exotic creatures. Two tour guides provide information during the hour-long tour.
Participants will see the Safari Park from vantage points not available to the public.
“The best part about the Trike Safari is that you get to experience part of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park that not many other guests get to see,” said Breanna Murray, tour operator for the Safari Park. “You are also in a very peaceful atmosphere where you get up-close and personal with some of the animals, and you may be able to experience behaviors that a lot of guests usually don’t see.”
Guests must be at least 12 to participate. Before touring, guests undergo an orientation and training on the trikes.
