SALEM, Ohio — Mayflower Tours made one lucky baby boomer sparkle at the Boomer in Groups (BiG) Conference in November, when Jan Austin of Bee on the Go Travel of Dayton, Ohio, won a one-carat diamond at the event’s closing ceremony.

Mayflower Tours sponsored the “Diamond Drop,” which gave each boomer travel planner in attendance a chance to win a mounting-grade jewel.

“It has become a fun event and great way to close out the BiG Conference,” said Joe Cappuzzello, president of The Group Travel Family, which manages BiG.

Every Boomer received a black velvet bag, each containing a one-carat cubic zirconia. One bag, however, had a randomly inserted diamond.

Sherri Guiborat and Kathy Basco represented Mayflower at Boomers in Groups.
