Explore Philadelphia’s cultural gems, from world-renowned museums, innovative art programs, stunning architecture and captivating performing arts groups.

Half-day Itinerary
Take a mural arts tour. More than 3,000 outdoor and indoor murals make Philadelphia the unofficial “Mural Capital of the World.”

Have lunch along the Avenue of the Arts, the heart of Philadelphia’s cultural district.

While on the Avenue of the Arts, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, a cultural and architectural masterpiece and home of the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra. Then make your way up the street to the Academy of Music, the oldest European-style opera house in use in the United States.

Weekend Itinerary: Day 1

Visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art, with its collection of more than a half-million paintings, sculptures, artifacts and a collection of French impressionist works.

Dine and take in the sights at Water Works Restaurant and Lounge, located directly behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art along the banks of the Schuylkill River.

Weekend Itinerary: Day 2
View rare books and decorative arts collections at the Rosenbach Museum and Library, located in the upscale Rittenhouse Square neighborhood.

Lunch at one of the many sidewalk cafes on Rittenhouse Square after some shopping along Rittenhouse Row.

Browse the galleries in the Old City Arts District, with more than 40 shops. Then take an art and architectural tour of the Pennsylvania Convention Center or visit the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the nation’s first art museum and school of fine arts.

Spend your evening at a performance by the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Philadelphia Orchestra or the Opera Company of Philadelphia.
