SALEM, Ohio — The baby boomer generation is entering the group travel market, and Boomers in Groups is an organization developed to educate and assist boomers interested in organizing travel. The organization will hold a BiG Travel Weekend November 15-17 in Cleveland.
“Cleveland will host the BiG Weekend, and we are holding a party at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” said Tammy Knox of BiG. “How appropriate that a group of boomers will visit the home of rock ’n’ roll.”
This is the third annual BiG Weekend, and 300 delegates are expected to attend the event. The weekend will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel with city sightseeing and socializing as a main focus. Boomer groups at past BiG Weekends have included bicycle clubs, girlfriend groups, yacht clubs and social groups.
“We are pleased that boomers are growing the group travel market and welcome all interested boomers and the group travel industry to join us at the BiG Weekend,” Knox said.
