In one trip, guests can both relax in a natural geothermal pool in the middle of a lava field and activate some adrenaline with a tour of Reykjavik by bicycle. The Inspiring Iceland itinerary was introduced by Collette Vacations in August as part of its small-group traveling brand Explorations, which caters to more adventurous customers.
The nine-day tour has a 24 passenger maximum and multiple stays in Reykjavik, Akureyri and Grundarfjordu. Tour participants will float in the mineral-rich water at the Blue Lagoon, cruise to a Puffin sanctuary, bike in Reykjavik and learn from an Icelandic family about the 400-year-old tradition of catching and preserving Greenland sharks. A tour of Iceland’s Golden Circle will reveal some of Iceland’s most renowned natural wonders, such as the 100-foot Gullfoss Waterfall.
The tour leaves participants with options, including a choice between horseback riding or a swim in the geothermal Myvatn Nature Baths. Guests will also decide between a deep sea angling expedition or a volcanic cave hike.
