Bucket List Itinerary: Red dunes and flamingo-filled lagoons

In one trip, guests can experience both the world’s highest desert dune and wetlands teeming with incredible wildlife, including 80 percent of all African flamingoes. Goway Travel’s “Namibia Highlights – Gold” tour introduces groups to the varied wonders of the Namibia over nine days.

Travelers first journey into the Namib Desert, where towering red dunes offer strange and colorful landscapes. The Sesriem Canyon juts 35 meters down into the desert floor for one of the desert’s most fantastic views.

A completely different ecosystem awaits groups at Walvis Bay’s lagoon, where hundreds of thousands of flamingoes descend to feed. Travelers explore the area on a marine cruise before heading north to Damaraland.

In Damaraland, guests will keep their eyes peels for the rare Desert Elephant, the Black Rhino and antelope. Visitors will have the option to discover the area on mountain bike, 4×4 or on foot.

More wildlife awaits at the Etosha National Park, where travelers can see cheetahs, lions and giraffes. Other itinerary highlights include Burnt Mountain, the Petrified Forest, a traditional Damara village and Bushman artwork painted over 600 years ago.
