LEXINGTON, Ky. — Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, the Lebanon, Tenn.–based restaurant company, is sponsoring a travel photo contest from now through April for groups eating in its restaurants.
“Get your cameras out and get some shots of your groups at Cracker Barrel enjoying their great food,” said The Group Travel Leader’s national sales and marketing director Kelly Tyner. “You just might get your group’s photo into an issue of The Group Travel Leader, and you become eligible to win our grand prize — a profile of your group in the paper and two Cracker Barrel rocking chairs!”
The chairs will be shipped free to the winner.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, which has been serving good country cookin’ to groups for more than 40 years, has designated bus parking at most locations, a toll-free phone line — 800-576-7693 —dedicated to group sales, group gift card discounts and complimentary meals for a driver and escort.
“Over the years, Cracker Barrel has been a favorite stop of tour operators,” said Lamar Hadley, a spokesman for Cracker Barrel. “Perhaps it’s because it’s such a convenient place to stop. Or maybe it’s because they know that they’ll always receive a warm welcome when they visit.
“Whatever the reason, Cracker Barrel has something for everyone, especially tour operators and group planners.”
Hadley pointed out that Cracker Barrel serves breakfast all day, every day. “Plus, you’ll find that every Cracker Barrel has ample seating and a helpful staff to provide groups both large and small an enjoyable meal,” he said.
“You’ll also notice that right next door to the restaurant, Cracker Barrel has a store full of unique gifts, exclusive CDs and a wide variety of snacks to help travelers get down the road.”
Cracker Barrel also offers special group gift cards.
“You can purchase a single card to cover your whole group’s meal, or you can get individual cards and let folks order and pay as they choose,” said Hadley. “Discounts are available on purchases over $1,000. And there are no fees, expiration dates, and the gift cards can be used in the restaurant, country store or both.”
There are more than 595 Cracker Barrel locations across 42 states. “And plenty of front porch rockers ready to welcome you,” said Hadley.
The staff of The Group Travel Leader enjoyed breakfast at one of Cracker Barrel’s Lexington locations on Aug. 16 to kick off the contest.
“When Kelly told me we were all going to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, what could I say?” said publisher Mac Lacy. “My family has been eating there for years, and I don’t even have to look at the menu to know that I want — Uncle Herschel’s favorite with orange juice and coffee.”
