Travel Alliance Partners (TAP) presented the 2014 Spirit of TAP Award to Marceline Dyer, tourism sales manager for Experience Columbus, during its annual TAP Dance convention held in Reno, Nevada, in June.
Dyer was nominated by several TAP members for her outstanding role in the tourism industry. Nominators said they admired her for going above and beyond the normal call of duty to assist tour operators and promote tourism to Columbus, Ohio.
“Marceline is being recognized for her contagious enthusiasm not only for TAP, but for Experience Columbus and the entire tourism industry,” said TAP executive director Stefanie Gorder. “Marceline has a wonderful personality and works well with other delegates and operators in assisting with the development of dynamic events and creative tour packages.”
The Spirit of TAP Award was established in 2012 after the passing of TAP partner Ann Thomas of Western Discovery. The award recognizes a top travel industry supplier who exemplifies the vision and spirit of the organization and who takes initiative to help others.
The Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Jim Coggin, the 2012 Spirit of TAP Award recipient, and 2013 recipient Todd Stallbaumer of the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, introduced Tracy Gruber, Thomas’ daughter, who presented the award to Dyer.
The 2015 TAP Dance will take place June 7-11 in Oklahoma City.
