SALEM, Ohio — The Group Travel Family, a nationwide organization of travel planners, will provide an educational series to travel clubs in 35 cities across the country this year. The educational program is called TravelTalks and will be free of charge to organizers of travel for clubs and groups.

“Group travel is growing, and we as an organization feel a responsibility to offer continuing education to the volunteer travel planners that make so much happen for the traveling public,” said Charlie Presley, founder of The Group Travel Family.

The group travel market is experiencing growth due to the influx of the baby boomer generation and its desire to travel in groups with like-minded people. The Group Travel Family tracks 25,000 of these travel groups and uses its database of knowledge to help groups plan better trips.

“We don’t sell travel — we give the group leaders the knowledge to run or select better tours for their clubs,” said Presley.

TravelTalks meetings will be held on weekday mornings and conclude with a free luncheon. Discussions will include destination selection, motorcoach safety and group satisfaction. Networking with the attending travel leaders is an added benefit of attending a TravelTalks meeting.

“We have matched up groups to fill buses and share ideas,” Presley said.

Members of the travel industry are always invited to attend local TravelTalks meetings to keep abreast of group travel needs.

Group travel planners are invited to register for TravelTalks meetings near them at www.grouptraveltalks.com or by calling 800-628-0993
