Important personal items to take on a hike

Don’t take you group out on a trail without having these important items handy.
Most important is drinking water. The warmer the day, the more you will need to take.
Suitable hiking shoes or boots, along with standard athletic socks.
A hat to shade your eyes on sunny days.
A handkerchief or hand towel.
Sun block.
Insect repellent.
A walking stick, either a traditional wooden model or modern metal version.
A camera with a neck strap.
