PHILADELHPIA – The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau has released a new website tool that allows group tour planners to create customized itineraries. The bureau partnered with YourTour.com to build the online trip-building technology directly onto their website www.philadelphiausa.travel.
The technology launched in September allows both individual travelers and group planners to develop customized Philadelphia itineraries by answering basic questions like when and where they want to go.
“We were really impressed with how simple this technology makes it for our visitors and customers to plan their trip, or free time, while in Philadelphia,” said Jack Ferguson, president and CEO of the Philadelphia CVB. “The user can even specify preferences like budget, activity types, group size and specific attractions to generate an updated, more personalized tour proposal.”
The tour-planning engine draws from more than 300 tours, dining, shopping and other visitor activities within its system. These itineraries take into account walking time, as well as attractions’ days and hours of operation. Philadelphia CVB is one of the first cities to showcase technology reporting on walking time.
The Web application allows planners to share their customized itineraries on various social networks after completion.
