SALEM, Ohio — Reno and Tahoe, Nevada, have long been attractive group tour destinations, and the area continues its efforts to keep groups aware of upcoming reasons to visit the area.

Reno/Tahoe will have a presence at the 2013 TravelTalks series of group gatherings to promote the following attractions and events:

The Reno Aces Baseball Club will play host to a multiday all-star celebration in July. The nationally televised 26th annual Triple-A All-Star Game will take place July 17 and will include several days of entertainment for fans of all ages showcasing northern Nevada.

The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival will take place at Sand Harbor State Park in August and September. The event takes place on the sandy banks of Lake Tahoe and features wine, gourmet dining and professionally produced theater.

July in Reno features Artown, a monthlong festival that offers nearly 400 events as wide-ranging as live music, dance, theater and performance, visual arts, workshops, multicultural events and tours, a majority of which are free.

The Reno-Tahoe Open is recognized as a favorite among PGA Tour pros. Groups can attend the tournament, which is held at Montreux Golf and Country Club in late July.

The Virginia and Truckee Railroad offers half- and full-day rides through the historic route used to mine gold and silver in the removal of one of the planet’s largest gold and silver strikes, the Comstock Lode. Guides provide narrated tours for groups.

The Summit Mall in south Reno and the Legends at Sparks Marina have outdoor shopping and dining experiences, with restaurants, movie theaters and retailers.

Group travel organizers attending TravelTalks this year will receive complete information on exciting things to do in Reno/Tahoe.
