SEATTLE — Seattle’s historic waterfront has added a new iconic feature to the city’s skyline with the June 28 opening of the 175-foot-tall Seattle Great Wheel on Pier 57.
The structure, which extends nearly 40 feet over Elliott Bay, provides sweeping views of Puget Sound and surrounding islands.
The Seattle Great Wheel can hold a total of 252 people in 42 climate-controlled, six-passenger gondolas. Each ride lasts 12 minutes during approximately three full rotations.
The wheel features one glass-floored VIP gondola with leather seats.
