SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Small Market Meeting Conference has announced that its 2013 conference has been awarded to Sioux Falls, S.D.
Sioux Falls, South Dakota’s largest city with a population of more than 158,000, will play host to more than 200 meeting planners and representatives of destinations, meeting facilities and hotels from around the country.
“Sioux Falls is thrilled to have the opportunity to host Small Market Meetings,” said Teri Ellis Schmidt, executive director of the Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We look forward to welcoming everyone to our beautiful community in 2013.”
In addition to three days of scheduled business appointments, educational seminars and meal functions, the conference will offer networking opportunities at social functions to which all delegates are invited.
Sioux Falls will also get a chance to showcase its attractions on sightseeing tours.
A central focus point of the city is Falls Park, the triple-tier waterfall and namesake to the city in the heart of the historic downtown where a light and sound show is projected on the side of the restored 1908 hydroelectric plant building from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
