ANAHEIM, Calif. — Trafalgar has announced the addition of four new culinary-focused itineraries to its domestic tour program for 2013.
The tours, which will let travelers learn about foods specific to their destination, are San Francisco and Wine Country Delights, Wonder and Flavors of the Golden State, Tastes and Sounds of the South and New York Zest and New England’s Best.
“Gourmet travel is a rapidly expanding market with more and more Americans looking to try different regional cuisines with local foods that give them the freshness of the farm-to-table experience,” said Paul Wiseman, president of Trafalgar USA. “With the Taste of North America program, we wanted to show Americans that they don’t have to travel far to taste delicious local specialties. Some of the best cuisines are in their own backyard, whether it’s Louisiana’s spicy Creole cooking or Vermont’s flavorful cheeses.”
Among the local experiences on the itineraries are a guided bog tour at a cranberry farm near New Bedford, Mass.; making wine from honey at Boston’s Moonlight Meadery; an interactive cooking class at the New Orleans School of Cooking; a visit to an olive press in Sonoma, Calif.; wine tasting at a Napa, Calif., winery; and a dinner aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train.
