Jeff Davis Parish is ready to welcome you and your group! Your first stop should be our Visitor Center, located at I-10 Exit 64 in Jennings, LA. We can accommodate groups of any size at our large visitor center. Our friendly staff can start you off with a warm cup of Community Coffee, brochures and info on all our area has to offer. Bus parking is available.

In the same spot, be sure to visit the “Gator Chateau,” an educational attraction where you can hold a baby alligator! It offers an up close and personal experience with Louisiana’s favorite mascot, the alligator! Our knowledgeable staff will educate you on our attraction and all things gator! Feel free to ask any questions and take all the pictures you like! We can customize the tour to whatever age group or grade level you like. This attraction is not just for kids. Adults will love holding the gators and learning everything from their habitat, to what they eat, to how we care for them at our facility.  Be sure to save time to check out our gift shop for any gator souvenir you can think of!

Take a tour of “Bayou Rum”, in Lacassine, LA, where you can take a tour and taste rum made with locally grown sugarcane. A state-of-the-art distillery in Lacassine, LA. The facility offers free tours to see firsthand how Bayou Rum is pasteurized, fermented, distilled, aged in their barrel storage, bottled up, and served at their in-house tasting bar. Also houses a gift shop and visitors center. Exit 48 off I-10 with easy access. Bus parking is available.

Take your group to the W.H. Tupper Museum and step back in time when you walk through the doors! Visit this authentic country store which operated in rural Jeff Davis Parish from 1910-1949. The store closed its doors in 1949, and now the contents are displayed in a one-of-a-kind museum experience! The original store, located about 12 miles north of Jennings, was opened during the Great Depression to serve the large number of farm workers in the area. It sold everything- groceries, medicines, meat, hardware, dry goods, and even clothing. A realistic capsule of early 20th-century lifestyle, the museum features antique toys, newspapers, games, hats, fashions, sewing notions, fabric, patent medicine, school supplies, and hardware. The Tupper Store also served as the area’s post office.

If your group is here during Crawfish harvest season, be sure to take a group Crawfish Farm tour. Crawfish Farm field tours in Jeff Davis Parish operate from March to May (the crawfish harvest season) on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. Spectators will experience the habitat, harvest, calculation, distribution, and consumption of Louisiana’s #1 crustacean. We also offer Rice Farm group tours- a wonderful, educational tour led by a local rice farmer.

Jeff Davis Parish has a variety of restaurants that can accommodate your group to give you a real taste of Cajun food. From homestyle plate lunches to fine dining on the water. We are located on the Seafood Sensation Culinary trail, and we have some of the best seafood dishes around! Especially boiled crawfish (in season).
