Staff Sound-Off: Castles
We asked our staff, “Which castle would you love to tour?” Find out which castles would be our fairytale trips in this month’s Staff Sound-Off.
I would love to tour any and all castles, because I’m obsessed, but my top pick would be “Bran Castle” a.k.a Dracula’s Castle in Romania.
— Telisa Rech, Advertising Sales Manager
I would love to head deep into the Romanian mountains to the majestic and mysterious Bran Castle in Romania. It’s the former residence of Vlad the Impaler and is widely known for its connection to Bram Stoker’s “Dracula.” The blend of history and folklore puts it at the top of my list.
— Ashley DeLucia, Advertising Sales Manager
I’ve got to see Hohenzollern Castle in Germany one day.
— Brady Wine, Sales Coordinator
I’ve seen Germany’s Neuschwanstein Castle — which inspired the fairy-tale castles at the Disney parks — from the outside a couple of times. I’d love a chance to visit and check out the inside.
— Brian Jewell, CEO & Executive Editor
Any castle in Scotland.
— Sarah Sechrist, Controller
Johnstone — originally Easter Cochrane Tower — near Renfrewshire, Scotland. It is the castle most closely related to the Cochran clan. Cochran is my maiden name, and genealogy is fascinating to me.
— Donia Simmons, Creative Director
I’m a big Tudor history fan, so I would love to tour Hever Castle & Gardens, then stay overnight in the on-site bed and breakfast.
— Ashley Ricks, Print & Digital Publishing Manager
