Austin and the Texas Hill Country enjoy their share of changing leaves during fall, which comes a bit later than the change in northern areas. But September and October also bring a trio of great festivals that highlight the area’s thriving music scene.
Austin City Limits, Sept. 16-18 — Now among one of the world’s most famous music festivals, this event has performances by 130 artists from numerous genres on 12 stages in a downtown park.
Pecan Street Festival, Sept. 24-25 — This downtown festival features local musicians, vendors and artists and is one of the most popular events for area residents.
Gruene Music and Wine Fest, Oct. 7-9 — In Gruene, a small town south of Austin in the Hill Country, this festival focuses on music, food and wine from the Lone Star state.
