ATLANTA — Travel South USA, the regional travel promotion organization representing 12 Southern states, has commissioned Tourism Economics to study international marketing opportunities.
Travel South USA also has named Miles as its marketing agency.
Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics company, will provide an in-depth analysis and assessment of the size, scope and prospects of international markets for the Travel South region and individual states.
Tourism Economics has extensive experience with destinations, airlines, hotels, theme parks and travel associations in assessing global tourism markets, with a database of more than 190 countries and 300 cities.
Miles, a leading digital marketing agency, will continue to manage the www.TravelSouthUSA.org website and develop a strategy for targeting international travelers with digital marketing.
Kyle Edmiston, head of the Louisiana Office of Tourism, was sworn in as the new chairman of the Travel South USA board of directors at an August meeting in Branson, Missouri.
Other board members serving one-year terms on the executive board are vice chairman Wit Tuttell, executive director of Visit North Carolina; secretary/treasurer Dan Lennon, director of the Missouri Department of Tourism; and past chairman Duane Parrish, director of South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
Kentucky tourism commissioner Kristen Branscum will chair the PR/Earned Media Committee; West Virginia tourism commissioner Amy Shuler Goodwin will chair the Advertising Committee; and Kevin Langston, deputy commissioner of the Georgia tourism division, will chair the International Marketing Committee and the newly formed International Research Committee.
