Fourth Edition of US Civil Rights Trail Travel Guide Coming in March

The fourth edition of the highly-regarded U. S. Civil Rights Trail Travel Guide has been approved by the USCRT Marketing Alliance and will be published with the March issue of The Group Travel Leader magazine.  Prior issues have featured memorable cover images of American civil rights icons Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Muhammad Ali.

“We appreciate the confidence placed in us by the U.S. Civil Rights Trail leadership and consider this to be one of the highlights of our publishing year,” said publisher Mac Lacy.  “This significant trail and its well-known sites are seeing more visitation by domestic and international travelers with each passing year.”

Several broad themes related to America’s arduous journey toward civil rights for its African-American citizens are used to depict the journey that continues today.  They include:

  • Churches and community
  • Law and legislation
  • Education
  • Museums
  • Social Justice

“We’re assigning articles now and will be addressing these topics and all the new developments along the trail over the past year,” said vice president and executive editor Brian Jewell.  “In this very difficult year for travel, it’s great to know that we can begin the exciting work involved in bringing groups and interested travelers to America’s civil rights sites and museums in the years ahead.”
